She founded the Border Action Network in 2001 where she served as the Executive Director for a decade influencing immigration policy both in Arizona and nationally. Her leadership has influenced many across Southern Arizona and nationally when she has served on the board of directors of GreenLatinos, the City of Tucson’s Commission on Climate, Energy and Sustainability, League of Conservation Voters, ACLU, and Las Adelitas Arizona, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to promoting Latina civic participation and encouraging Latinas and other women of color to run for public office.

Jennifer is a Senior Vice President at the League of Conservation Voters where she leads LCV’s Community and Civic Engagement department. She joined LCV in 2013 to develop Chispa (“spark” in Spanish), a national community organizing program that builds the capacity of Latino families to influence policy makers and pressure polluters to protect communities’ rights to clean air and water, healthy neighborhoods and a safe climate for generations to come.
